Aktuelle News:
Heute gab es die letzten 300 Arbeitseinheiten (WUs), sie waren binnen Minuten “vergriffen”.
Wenn alle Resultate zurück sind, wird das Projekt endlich vom Server des CERN in der Schweiz auf einen Server der Queen Mary Universität in London umziehen.
Wahrscheinlich wird das morgen, am 15.05.2007 der Fall sein.

Das Seti Team hat die Zeit seit dem 1. Mai gut genutzt und u. a. für das Projektforum ein längst überfälliges neues Feature entwickelt.
Jeder User kann jetzt “Private Messages” (Nachrichten direkt an andere User) verschicken.
Wahrscheinlich werden die PMs ab dem nächsten Update der BOINC (Projekt) Software allen Projekten zur Verfügung stehen.
Aktueller Stand:
Gestern kam der neue Server an. Die Festplatten wurden eingebaut. Hochfahren des Servers funktionierte, aber die Einstellungen am Datei System dauerten über Nacht. Es wird noch etwas dauern bevor SETI den Betrieb wieder aufnimmt. In Berkeley wird erst am Montag wieder am neuen Server gearbeitet.
ABER so wie es aussieht werden bereits schon vereinzelt WUs verschickt!

Update: We got the new server yesterday, inserted our old disks and booted it up. It came right up, but verifying the file systems took overnight. The work is being created, the splitters and assimilators are working. It will be a while before we catch up. Thank you for your continued patience and support.

Das Projekt Riesel Sieve hat neue Linux Anwendungen (x86 und x86_64) herausgebracht.
Sie beinhalten neue DAT Dateien, sr3sieve (aktuell) und das neue “Wrapper Format” was RS einiges erleichtert.
Heute abend kommt ein “PPC build” raus, bitte beachten.

A new x86 and x86_64 set of linux clients has been sent out to the hosts. It includes the new DAT file, updated sr2sieve, and a new wrapper format that will allow us to interchange what is run in the wrapper more easily. Look for the PPC build to come out this evening. As always - send any questions over to the forums.

Ein neuer Termin für den Austausch der Geräte ist morgen.
Wenn alles klappt wird SETI frühestens Mittwoch wieder WUs ausgeben können.

Our science database is still dead (see below and in Technical News for more info). The current ETA for a replacement server from Sun is tomorrow (Tuesday) - the earliest we could possibly get everything working again will be Wednesday. Thank you for your continued patience!

Der neue Server wird doch erst am Freitag den 12.05.2007 geliefert.
SETI kann daher frühestens am Montag wieder WUs ausgeben!

May, 09th. 2007:
Update: Our science database server died on Tuesday, May 1st. We haven’t been able to create new workunits since then (though we are still accepting completed results). Sun is graciously replacing this server. The bad news is, despite earlier claims, it won’t be here until Friday the 11th, which means the earliest we’ll be creating new work is Monday the 14th.
