Actually, no problems known. Maybe it was temporary.

Server is up and running.
BarryAZ on 04. September 2008 21:37:56
OK -- so you must know, you are not allowed to leave the servers for more than 1 day.
dommo on 04. September 2008 18:31:24
It's from the beginning. The servers had been outages when I'm on holiday, travel or in the weekend. They keep running as long as I give it lots of T.L.C. If not there are outages. ;-)
BarryAZ on 04. September 2008 15:36:40
OK -- just a tad odd getting hit up with 'back to back' problems on a project which has run so trouble free.
dommo on 04. September 2008 09:16:34
It's not same problem. Last week it was the main nic and now the kernel. It's a nfs bug in the kernel 2.6.15. I try to build a newer kernel tomorrow when I'm back.
BarryAZ on 04. September 2008 07:12:35
OK -- thanks for the update. Is this the same problem as last week, or something different?
dommo on 04. September 2008 06:40:22
Find the problem on the webserver last night. A kernel crash on the webserver. I can't restart the server remotely. It has a load of 540. On friday I'm back an will repair the problem. Regards

56 -- good age (I'm 57). My mother taught blind kids in her day. Spinhenge has been good -- I have 8 active projects (2 are down at the moment).
Marack on 04. September 2008 03:40:44
Thanks for info! I am old 56 and tired (I teach deaf kids age 6-9), I like to throw all my resources towards 1 project at a time. I like team result ranking (Vain me). I will hang. Thanks smiley MarackTX
BarryAZ on 04. September 2008 02:47:55
Actually, outages are rare here, before these two there was one in May I believe, none in between. I have multiple BOINC projects, I just push cycles to those projects.
Marack on 04. September 2008 01:49:45
Hello, I am new here (<2 weeks, Average 516+ >40 results pending) are these outages often? If yes, Bye bye, short WU wonderful. BarryAZ, I understand how you feel! Wasting CPU time smiley MarackTX
BarryAZ on 03. September 2008 20:31:47
By the way, the previous explanation was a failed NIC -- seems unlikely that this would happen twice within a week...
BarryAZ on 03. September 2008 18:50:43
Ouch, another multi-day outage -- I'm assuming work unit due dates will get pushed out due to this.
Seneca on 03. September 2008 18:45:38
Servers are out of order till Friday 10 o'clock of German time. The project manager is on the move on business. The same problem like recently.
